My beloved family. The day finally arrived for Elder Nichols to return to California. I had to push him to leave the last appoinment friday night, he wanted to say his last goodbye to Nataly and her family. It was a little difficult for him to go home, but he was also really excited to see his family again. I think one feels a little strange going back to the family after two years on a mission, and returning to normal life. Now the goals have changed a little bit, instead of lessons each week he is worried about dates and instead of baptisms marriage. I don´t know what the president was thinking with this transfer, he gave me another dead missionary, ready to go home. He only has 2 transfers left, actualy more like 9 weeks. I guess that means I will probably be here in Quimey for a lot mor time, enough to kill off Elder Klappenbach and teach another elder the sector. That is right, my new companion is Elder Klappenbach, from Argentina. Finally my companion has a harder last name to pronounce than mine. He lives about 2 hours away from where Jeremy is right now. We are pretty good friends, because he likes to drink mate too. We should have a baptism the 24th of January. Yesterday we taught about temples, and work for the dead. I think it went well, but she did have a few difficult questions. It is difficult for some people to understand the value we put in the temple, but when one has the opportunity to worthily enter in and do recieve your endowment, you can feel really how speciall the temple is. I am also sure that if one hasn´t gone in a while you can forget just how special it is. So I would encourage you to go, it would be a great way to start off the year. Here is a thought, the gospel of Jesus Christ is like a piano. A lot of churches play one note, like baptism. They play it again and again, and it sound beautiful, because it is a true doctrine essencial for the salvation. Others focus on the bible, and the importance of studying the bible. They adore the words of Jesus Christ in the New Testament, and quote from it often, even preach in the streets. But they are missing the words of modern day prophets and scripture from the book of mormon. It sounds beautiful, but from studing the bible there is still a lot of confusion about true doctrine. Then you take our church, restored in its fulness. We have Missionary Work, The Standard Works, Words for Living Prophets, Priesthood and Priesthood Keys, Temple Ordinances and Temple Work for our ancenstors, Relief Society, Patriarchs, All of the commandments, Humanitarian Aid, and a lot more. We have all the doctrine of Jesus Christ, in its perfect, incurrupted form. We charish and study all the knowledge that god has given us. There are so many truths that our fellow men just dont have, and through faithfulness to the ordinances of this church, one can be together with his family for the Eternity, which is the greatest of the gifts of God. I love you all, and encourage you to share the gospel with everybody. Everybody needs to hear the beautiful melody fo the gospel of Jesus Christ, to have a full song, and just not a couple notes. The gospel is a symphony to my ears, and I know that this is the only true church. I love you all, and keep pushing forward, elder Chandler.
