I have been thinking a lot this week. I have been pondering all that I have learned for almost two years, and what I would like to do to learn more and become better. First, I have to express my gratitude for all the support you have giving me durring the mission. Not only my imediate needs, like money or school stuff although I am grateful, but more importantly the spiritual strength. I have seen so many miracles, and been an instrument to change so many lives, it has been with no doubt largely due to your dillegent work, and not only durring the mission but also before, in family scripture study, family prayer, family home evening, and weekly participation in the church. I have learned so much from the advice that you have given me durring the years and the lessons you have taught. I will need your advice for the difficult and important life decisions that I will have to take soon. Thank you for your constant encouragment, which has giving me energy to keep trying, and relieving mission stress. I cannot express in words how gratefull I am for your sacrifices, the love and never ending sacrifice of a mother, a loving father that may not express how he feels in words but what you do for me will never be forgotten. A older brother and twin who I didn´t often get along with, but I know are there for me. And two sisters who write every week and I doubt they know what they are doing, but it does make a difference. Thank you Grandpa Chandler and Grandpa Murry. Thanks to all the people who have been a part of my constant conversion.
We had a meeting this week called, endure to the end (AKA Trunky Training) for those that finish the mission this transfer. I decided to share this video with you all to show you how much you do pushes me forward. My words might not do it justice, but this video does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR---sCPZlQ
This saturday we had the stake youth activity that I commented about last week, one day as a missionary. We were with Joaquin all day long. He has some type of disorder that makes him a little a little shy and he likes video games and is always on his cell phone. He arrived and I went over and started to talk to him, and he didn´t respond. Later they announced our youth companions and when I heard we were going to be with him I didn`t know what to do. It looked like he didn`t care and wasn`t willing to do anything, like he didn`t want to be there. I talked to the leaders and they explained his problem, but said he would still work. At first it was a little awkward, but when we left after doing a companionship study at the church he started to open up a little. When we told him about caterina, a future investigator appointment who was suffering from the loss of her friend who had commited suicide, he looked worried, and said we had to do something to help her, that he had a friend that had wanted to do the same. In the end he helped us a lot, and we had a great day, he took initiative in the contacting handing out invitations to our Capilla Abierta activity. The appointments fell through, but I think we helped Joaquin a ton, and were able to have some great contacts. By the end of the day when we had to return to the chappel for the devotional he said he could hardly walk from a pain in his leg, that had been bothering him all day and he had injured in a family hike. He said he was excited to serve a mission in a year. It was a moment I will not forget.
Few people went to the capilla abierta, due to the long 3 day weekend, and poor planning, there was a self reliance class in the self reliance chappel the same time. but, while contancting we found octavio, an inactive member, and we convinced him to go with us. His girlfriend and daughter enjoyed it, bieng thier first time in the chappel.
I love hearing about and reading your new ponderize scriptures, keep at it, I will send you a pic of my scripture for the week. 11 baptism dates Kris, awesome. And Jeremy is having some crazy success, Le quiero hermano, disfrute del tiempo bonito de la primavera. Tiene muchos investigadores que son tan bakanes, o geniales, o chevere. disfrute de su ultimo cambio y recuerde que uno nunca deja de ser un misionero, Hay que buscar la compañera después, jajaja.
I love hearing from you all, have the best week. Elder Chandler
