Today we woke up early to go to San Bernardo to play a long, hard, and super fun game of 11 on 11 inter-zone soccer. We played from 10 to 1, and ended up winning 5-1. It was the first opportunity i´ve had so far in the mission to play a real game of soccer on a large, quality field. I´m used to playing on small concrete fields or a small synthetic field, but this was an official game. Then we came back and ate an asado, or grill, in the stake center with all the missionaries from the zone. We cooked off a large quantity of meat with rice. Some pieces were a little tough, but genarally it was pretty good. We´ve been going on splits with the new young mens president, and seminary is working on a small play that we are helping with because we only have 3 youth. All the wards are going to act a little story from The Book of Mormon Saturday. Our youth are acting out the story of Alma the Younger. We had a ward activity Saturday where we watched a movie, and the missionaries helped cook sopaipillas and cheese empanadas. Unfortunately we had a low turnout, and we and the people who showed up took home the leftovers. Sunday we had a pretty good turnout, and a suprise because hno Honores came, who never comes with his family, has a big drinking problem, and won´t listen to the missionaries for anything. When we enter, he runs off. But it was good to see him in church for Sacrament Meeting, because the second it ended he left. The part of his family that is active, including his wife are really active and I have all the faith that with time he will come around. We are working hard, despite a few problems with the people we are teaching and the World Cup making things a little dificult to teach people. We have to go to the apartment early when Chile is playing, because after the game some streets fill with people, and President Cook wants us safe. Wednesday we had more rain, but the rest of the week has been blue skies. Are you enjoying summer break. I hope everything goes well. Love, Elder Chandler.
