It´s right around the corner, with three new apostles and a great oportunity to learn by the best. Are you looking for more dirrection in your life? Do you want to know what you need to change to be a little bit better and be on the right path? Do you have some unanswered questions? Go to General Conference, ´´open your ears that ye may hear, and your hearts that ye may understand, and your minds that the mysteries of God may be unfolded to your view´´ (mosiah 2:9). Listen to the words of a living prophet. Of coarse you know that General Confernce Sunday is not a free sunday, 8-10 hours might seem like an eternity, but if you let it, it can be a worthwhile, unforgettable experience. To make it even more worth it I challenge you to invite somebody to a session. The worst thing that could happen is that they could say no.
That`s what we did yesterday. We found Erika selling food in the street, and we were able to share a little bit with her, and invite her to conference. She said she would go to the saturday afternoon session, and she gave us her phone number and we talked about how we would meet up to go together. It was a miracle that she agreed to go, and I will tell you how it went next week.
We will also have the great opportunity to get to know three new apostles. How fun. I am hoping that one will be a latino. We lost Elder Scott who spoke spanish, so we should get another to replace him. You said you saw the funeral of Elder Scott, we saw it monday. They were trying to get it in english for us, and spanish in another room, but we had a few tecnical difficulties and and it was freezing a lot, so we ended up watching in spanish. Before it started Elder Clark, a senior missionary in our mission, shared a few personal experiences that he had with his mission president Scott. Many 70 and one apostle, elder Cristofferson, were missionaries under President Scott. He was truly an amazing person, and touched many lives who had the opportunity to speak with him and get to know him, like our mission president, and a member from our ward brother Godoy. Thankfully he is with his beloved wife now, working dillegently on the other side.
We were able to find a new investigator, Rodrigo, this week who seems really prominant. We were only able to teach outside, he is still warming up to us, but the lesson went really well.
Hector and the Araya family went to church sunday!!! It was so amazing, Hector is becoming more familiar with the church, and I feel that he is close to the decision to be baptized. And it has been sooooo long that his father in law has gone to church, everybody was so happy to see him there. They have been inactive for so long. Sunday was amazing. we had so many people at church. 12 that we invited went.
And we had a fun painting service project with the family Guerrero, and they gave us the best hamburgers that I´ve had in two years afterwards. I miss a real, home-made american hamburger sooo much.
Thanks for writing me. Kris is finally getting out of missionary kindergarden, or you could even call it a prison. He is gonna be born into the real world. I wish I could go back to that day. Reading his letters brings me back in time. And Jeremy, keep working hard, you are the best. I love you all, and would do anything for you. Keep being so awesome. Elder Chandler
