A lot of big changes have happened in the mission. A new companion, and a new ward in a new zone. My previous ward was small, of about 65 active members, but this new ward is the largest in the mission with about 160 active members. There are also 8 missionaries, 4 elders and 4 sisters. This new ward is a popular one in the mission, and I heard that people move to be in the ward. My new companion is Elder Figueroa from Mexico. I feel this will be a really good change for me, and I will be able to progress even more. I am looking for another baptism, and reactivations. The ward is really spread out as well, and so I´ll be walking a little bit more. The ward is called Quimey. I found out saturday morning that I would be going, and sunday evening we had a meeting to celebrate the anniversary of the mission, one year old. In this meeting I found out who my companion is, and where I would be going, and we met up today. I have yet to see the house, and get to know some of the members. Chile lost to Brasil on Saturday, and so we could leave and teach a little Saturday night. A lot has happened in the 6 months I have in the mission, and I am ready to experience a lot more. We had a good turn out on Sunday with Dayana and her kids and the family of sister Lagos. I wasn´t able to baptize her kids, because they haven´t been attending, but I know I will hear the good news from my companion when they are baptized. It was a little strange though when Dayana stood up in front of the class in Priesthood and Relief Society Combined and talk about how good missionaries we are, me and my companion, even though she hasn´t been attending, and then asking for a round of applause in church for the effort we did. How strange, huh.
I love the missionary work, and the opportunity to serve the people of Chile. They are good people, and I feel right at home. I hope all is well with you all. It was weird reading how Jeremy got robbed, I didn´t think he was serving a mission here. I am happy that he could receive a baptism, it sure is great when you find somebody prepared by the Lord. We are so blessed as missionaries to be on the Lords errand. I know that with a missionary obedient, the spirit will help you find and teach the people that are looking for the gospel. I am growing in so many ways, and feel a love for the people here. Have a good week, love Elder Chandler
